Bring back Hugill
We all thought Hugill was suspect, but he’s now scored seven goals in 13 games at QPR. He looks really decent.

With Arnie and Hernandez now gone, we all saw today that we lack finishers. We lack somebody who puts themselves about.

Ajeti has been crap and rumour is that’s he not up to the rigours of the English game.

Answer? We should recall Hugill and have the big lad on the bench.

I actually think today Hugill would have been an asset considering all the balls we chipped into the box. It’s time to give this giant unit one final throw of the dice....

If Haller gets injured...

Would you rather have Ajeti or Hugill?

Ajeti is a fucking crap, so far, but Hugill is proven English striker.

People need to get real.

He's not proven though, is he?

Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
not sure you can really judge ajeti until he plays a few games. one in two at basel is a better standard than huggy bear's lower league production

Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
My mate is a QPR ST holder. He reckons Hugill is lower championship level. Yes, he's scored 7 but with the chances he's had, he should have scored twice that.

He's a bit of a panicker in the box, he tells me.

Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
Hugill scored 30 in 114 for Preston. That's one in just under every four games. At League One (albeit briefly) and Championship level. Sean Maguire has scored 16 in 60 for the same club at the same level, almost exactly the same ratio. Sean Maguire. Does anyone want him back now?

Hugill is now having a purple patch for QPR, scoring 7 in 13. Again, in the Championship. Even so, he has never scored at anything like that rate before. The chances are he won't keep it up and will end up with something akin to his previous personal bests- 13 in 47, or 10 in 29. Even taking those two seasons prior to his move to us together, his two best ever, that's still more than 3 games per goal.

He's also 27, so he's hardly some young developing kid whose previous records can be dismissed as a development period.

Yes it can happen but if Hugill were to come good at Premier League level against all previous evidence and at his age then it would be remarkable.

A few decent games for QPR do not make someone the answer, sadly. Stick Ajeti in the Championship and there is every chance he would get double figures. There is a big gap now, and even given his recent form Hugill has never done anywhere near as well in that league before. I seriously doubt he ever will again. There is nothing in his nine seasons as a professional to suggest he could do anything of note at a higher level.

He is not better than what we have. That we are even discussing this shows the mess we are in with this squad.

This is a joke right? Even Preston fans were laughing when we brought him, and now she’s the missing link in our side......Bwahahahaha

Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
Not all of us think Hugill is suspect.

Some of us see him for what he is/could be for the club. That is a decent enough striker to bring on off the bench and to play in early round cup games.

He would of offered more to us this season than Carroll did for us last season. Also looks a better option than Ajeti. Has that physical presence about him that we lack at times.

Personally I’m glad he is doing well and proving his doubters (including our own manager that he can play football).

I think we were too quick to flog Frank Nouble. Bring him back too.

Alf’s

Hugill should have 14 goals in 13 games? Think your mate is telling porkies.

I hope that we fold. I really, really, really fucking do.

Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
Two of my oldest friends and QPR fans Spanish John and Portuguese Ricky tell me he's OK nothing more, nothing less but he should be in double figures considering the number of chances that have fallen to him...but they have had worse in recent seasons so he'll do a job for the time being...

Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
The Preston fans did say if you want a player who will run through brick walls then Hugill is the man. Seems like we need someone like that at the moment

WestHam67

Exactly. Nobody is saying he should start, but I’d much rather bring him on with 20 minutes than Ajeti. He can bully defenders and cause panic.

Sheffield United would have not liked him appearing yesterday.

Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
This is the exact reason why we can't push for top7 finish. There is no top15 team where hugill would be good enough to make it to 25 squad list and yet people want him on our bench. Awful fullbacks, cm's and one of the worst benches in the league. That sums it up i suppose

Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
What a laugh that statement is.No way do we want him back.

Sven Roeder 11:24 Sun Oct 27
Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
QPR are playing Brentford on Monday night so people can take a look at him.
Personally I think he can make a career at that level and his goals may help us sell him in January to a Championship club looking to kick on.

Obviously there is a worry up front.
I’m not sure Ajeti touched the ball in the 8 mins or so he was on.

Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
The only player I'll bring back would be Diangana. Cullen could do a job next season, but Hugill is mid-table championship.

Sven Roeder 12:10 Sun Oct 27
Re: BRING BACK HUGILL
I see Diangana got sent off yesterday
Until the ref was persuaded it was mistaken identity. Who knew West Brom had two short black players with ginger highlights?

Josh Cullen equalised with a last min penalty
